ABOUT ANDREWS CAR CENTRE

Michael J. Andrews Director Statement:

"John H. B. Andrews, my grandfather, founded the business in 1929, operating from a small showroom at Number 7 Dixon Street in Lincoln, where the family also lived. Originally selling motorbikes, the company has evolved significantly over the decades and is possibly the longest-running, family-owned motor trade business in operation today.

My father, Alec Andrews, joined the company shortly after the Second World War. In 1960, we acquired a larger workshop further down the road at 98 Dixon Street. Then, in 1973, we opened a purpose-built showroom on the same site, showcasing 40–50 vehicles at any one time.

I joined the business straight from school in 1976 while studying a City & Guilds Mechanical course at Lincoln College. In 1994, we moved to our current one-acre, purpose-built site. It took over three years to complete planning and construction, resulting in a nine-car showroom and two large canopies—allowing our customers to browse our stock comfortably, whatever the weather.

In 2017, my son—representing the fourth generation of our family—joined the business straight from school while attending Lincoln College to study Accounts and Administration. He now manages our busy Service Department.

After many years of selling cars, we have diversified and significantly expanded our Service, MOT, and Repair Centre, which has now become the focal point of our business. We operate a busy eight-bay garage and are proud of our strong reputation for honesty, transparency, and supporting our local community. We carry out all types of repairs and are committed to keeping our customers safe and on the road.

Many of our team have been with us for over 10, 15, even 25 years, and that experience and continuity is at the heart of what we do.
